Alternative to Strigo
Why choose DaDesktop over Strigo?
Strigo offers complex drop-in infrastructure support but falls short on cost, speed, and a lack of nested virtualization—that is, the ability to run VMs within the VM in the application. Nested virtualization is particularly useful when providing teaching on server applications such as Kubernetes and Docker to provide a full 'end-to-end' testbed.
DaDesktop, on the other hand, provides a cost-effective, high-performance solution with exceptionally fast nested virtualization built in by default. It features a simpler user interface and an on-site option with a vastly greater number of data centres, ensuring far superior connection latency and a smooth, powerful, and exceptionally responsive learning experience every time.
DaDesktop is also a full, ready-to-go solution, whereas Strigo is a drop-in product that may require complex configuration to be integrated within another LMS system, potentially causing firewall issues for clients.
Finally, for customers who require an on-premises option where the application can be hosted by themselves in Canada for accountability and security concerns, DaDesktop fully supports this. In contrast, Strigo is an API-hosted platform only and appears unable to be used on premises in this way.
