Create From OS Template
To create from an OS template, follow these steps:
- Go to the course’s Desktops menu
- Click "Create From OS Template"
Here you can see the different options available when creating from an OS Template
Here's what each field means:
-
GPU Model
Choose the GPU model and type, if needed. Checking the ‘Display GPU enabled servers’ option will show only servers that have GPUs available. -
Datacentre / Server
Choose the datacentre region and server that's closest to your location in Canada. -
OS to clone from
Operating System (OS) templates include Windows, Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Almalinux amongst others) -
Include custom, old, beta & rc Versions
DaDesktop updates templates regularly, but if you run into issues with the latest template, you can try an older version here. -
CPU
Choose the number of CPU cores you need. NB The default is 8 cores, which works well for most Linux and Windows workloads. -
Memory
Set the amount of memory (in GB) to allocate to the desktop. Keep in mind that you’re limited by the server’s resources. Each server may have different memory limits. If you need more, contact us via Support Chat -
Disk Space
Set the amount of disk space you need. The default is 50 GB.
