Desktop Snapshots
Use of Desktop Snapshots
Snapshots allow you to 'back up' your virtual machine and restore it conveniently.
For example, if you're undertaking an upgrade that could break your system, you can stop your virtual machine and take a snapshot beforehand.
If the upgrade is successful, you can delete the snapshot; and if not, you can restore the machine to its previous state.
Snapshots are available for all types of DaDesktop, i.e. Fresh Start, Trainer, Participant, and Standalone machines can all use snapshots.
Please note that when you restore a snapshot, the machine will be powered down and ready to be restarted.
Creating Snapshots
Here's how to take a snapshot. Give the snapshot a clear descriptive name so you know at what point it was taken.
Below, you can see two snapshots taken at different states. You can restore or delete these as needed.
Automatic Desktop Snapshots
If you'd prefer to have snapshots taken periodically so you don't forget, then using Automatic Desktop Snapshots is ideal.
You can configure the number of snapshots to keep and how often new ones are taken here.
