Use Desktop after Course Finishes

A handy feature of DaDesktop is the ability for course participants to easily keep using their course machine for practice once their course wraps up. Before the end, participants are asked by email whether they'd like to continue using their desktop machine after the course finishes.

 

Usually, each participant's course desktop is removed shortly after the course ends. If you'd prefer to hang onto your desktop to practise with your lab work, you can clone it to a 'Standalone Desktop' for later use.

Just go to your Course, find your Desktop machine, and click the 'Use desktop after course' button next to it.

 

DaDesktop then walks you through the simple steps and lets you 'Enable' this option.

Once enabled, you'll see the following appear alongside your course machine

To get to your Standalone machine after the course finishes, click the Standalones menu at the top of your screen.

Machines that sit idle for a month are removed, but a warning email is sent ahead of time to give you plenty of notice if you'd like to keep using any of your Standalone machines.
