GPU support

DaDesktop offers two ways to support GPUs:

  1. Physical GPU pass through (available only in some data centres in Canada). This provides full hardware acceleration as it's using a real graphics card
  2. GPU simulation via LLVM Pipe. This works perfectly with any of our Linux distributions, e.g., Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04. However, it currently doesn't work on Windows 10.

If you're unsure whether your desired application requires a GPU (Blender, for example, does), you might see a message like this:

"A graphics card and driver with support for OpenGL 3.3 or higher is required. Install the latest driver for your graphics card might resolve the issue"
