Unable to type certain characters (e.g., apostrophes, quotation marks, and inverted commas) on a DaDesktop machine
This is an annoying problem that rarely appears but depends on the type of physical keyboard, language layout, and internationalisation used.
This is a Windows-only issue
To fix it, follow these steps:
- In the Windows search bar, type 'Settings'
- Click 'Time & Language'
- Click the language menu item on the left-hand side
- Then under 'Preferred Languages', click on your preferred language, and then 'Options'.
- Next, click 'Add a keyboard', and select the layout of your chosen keyboard, such as US keyboard layout
- Remove the old keyboard layouts by clicking on them and selecting 'Remove'
- Test by typing single quotes ('), quotation marks ("), and inverted commas (`).
