Recycle Bin

Once a course wraps up, all its machines—Fresh Start, Trainer, and all Participant machines—are removed after a short period.

A feature now lets you recover these machines from the 'Recycle Bin' for some time after they've been removed. The restore window isn't tied to a fixed schedule—it depends on things like server disk space and course usage—but normally you can expect machines to remain recoverable for at least a couple of months after the course has completed.

Each machine can be Restored to its course if that course still exists; if not, it can be Restored to a Standalone Desktop, or if you'd rather, Deleted entirely.

Recycle Bin

You can check your Recycle bin status by glancing at the Recycle Bin icon. When it's black, there are machines you can restore; when it's greyed out, no machines are available in the bin.

You can also search the list of machines in the recycle bin by name, server name, or course name.

How to Restore or Delete your machines from the Recycle Bin

  1. Restore - Use this to bring back a machine that was removed from a course. It will be restored to the same course if that course is still active. If the course has ended, you can restore it only as a Standalone machine (see below).
  2. Restore to Standalone Desktop - Choose this option if your course has finished and the machine can’t be restored to it. Restoring as a Standalone machine gives you more flexibility, as the machine can be kept as long as you need.
  3. Delete - Use this to permanently remove a machine from the Recycle Bin. Note that once deleted from the Recycle Bin, it can’t be restored.
  4. Empty Recycle Bin - Pressing the Red Empty Recycle Bin button will delete all your machines from the Recycle Bin permanently.
